The Rockland County Board of Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration & Sheetmetal Examiners has introduced a biennial Continuing Education (CE) requirement for all license holders. The Heating, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration & Sheetmetal License Holders will need to take their CE in the fall of even years (starting with 2022) . The Plumbing License Holders will need to take their CE in the fall of odd years (starting with 2023).

Amendment 9. Continuing education. Every individual to whom one or more licenses have been issued before the effective date of this rule or which shall have been issued after the effective date of this rule, regardless of whether such license or licenses have been or shall have been shelved, shall, within the two-year period following the issuance of such license or licenses and within each subsequent two-year period complete, at his or her own expense, 5 hours of continuing education per two-year period in a program approved in advance by the Board and provide proof satisfactory to the Board of the completion of such continuing education. The hours of continuing education may cover any one or more of the business, technical, or code aspects of any one or more of the disciplines in which the individual holds a license. Failure to comply with this rule shall constitute grounds to suspend, revoke, or refuse to renew, shelve, or reactivate any one or more licenses issued pursuant to Chapter 319 of the Laws of Rockland County. The requirement for the 5 hours of continuing education is on a biennial basis. Holders of a Master Plumber License will alternate obtaining their continuing education credit on a biennial basis with the Holders of a Heating Contractor License, Air-Conditioning-Refrigeration Contractor License, Refrigeration Contractor License and/or Sheet Metal Contractor License. No License Holder shall be required to obtained greater than 10 credits of continuing education in any two-year period.
Fall Sessions will be held in September and October. In-person or via Zoom options are available.
Each class will be 5 hours.
Cost $230 if signed up before August 1st. After that it will be regular price $250.
These are the only sessions to take place in 2024 and spaces are limited.
